The cottage enjoys a relaxed spacious country style, all ground floor accommodation with 2 bedrooms, both ensuite, combined with modern luxuries. Sheep Pen Cottage is located only 3.5 miles from Durham City, a World Heritage Site, yet surrounded by peaceful countryside with views of Brancepeth Castle on our working family farm Littlewhite Farm. Sheep Pen is a perfect base for you to explore the North East, Durham & Northumberland with highlights like Beamish Museum, our "Living Museum of the North" ,Kynren, the open air live show at Bishop Auckland, Hadrian's Wall, Durham Dales, the Heritage Coast, Cragside at Rothbury & the North York Moors to name but a few.

Note: Sheep Pen Cottage can be booked with Brookside Byre for a large group holiday, even though these are 2 private cottages together they sleep 10.

Just beautiful! Everything about this cottage was just perfect! After a 6 hour journey to get there we were not disappointed - the cottage is beautiful, photos do not do it justice, and to find a pint of milk in the fridge with tea cups and Scottish shortbread laid out ready for us made us feel really welcome!

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful location. It was extremely well equipped, every possible need had been catered for. We have stayed in many different self catering accomodations and this was by far the best.

Beautiful cottage - very comfy beds, great showers, well equipped kitchen, fantastic location. Hope to be able to return. Liked the flat rim to the bath - just perfect to rest a glass on !!

Sheep Pen Cottage is in a beautiful country setting but only 10 mins easy drive from Durham and 25 mins from Beamish so perfect situation for us. The cottage was scrupulousy clean - it is beautifully decorated but still has a lovely relaxed feel and is very comfortable.
